Classroom Resources
If your class cannot visit the Memorial Museum...
Bring Will Rogers to Your School or Library
Our Will Rogers Interpreter can visit your school! Bart Taylor will bring his wisdom about Will to your students. This presentation can be customized for your audience. Bart will talk about Will Rogers as a world citizen and how he used his fame and wit to bring people together. Bart can read one of his children’s books, “Will Rogers and the Great White House Sleepover” or "Will Rogers and his Great Presidential Pals." He will also teach your students rope tricks.
Virtual Will Rogers Experience
We also have a virtual option where we can give your class a specific YouTube link and have a live program—just for you! This is a great way to bring Will directly to your classroom.
3rd Grade Diorama Contest
Every year we invite Rogers County 3rd graders to learn about Will Rogers and create their own diorama. This is the perfect addition to your Oklahoma history curriculum! Dioramas will be displayed in the museum and voted on by the public. Prizes are awarded for first, second and third place. Our Interpreter will come to your school and explain the program to your students.
Lesson Plans for Older Students
We have lesson plans for grades 4-12 that go with the documentary “Will Rogers & American Politics”. Each lesson number corresponds to one of the six chapters found on the documentary. Within each lesson plan, you will find all the teacher resources, learning objectives for the chapter, student handouts, and the answer keys needed for each lesson. You can find these lesson plans here.
